Shalom Parker, LCPC

My journey into this work began with a deep belief that we are all doing our best to navigate life. Yet many of us find ourselves asking: "Who am I? How did I get here? What do I do now?"

I have been a practicing therapist since 2020 and bring more than a decade of experience in nonprofit community work throughout Chicago. My practice is deeply informed by my work alongside survivors of police torture, incarceration, and other forms of state violence over the past five years.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, licensed to provide art therapy and psychotherapy both in Illinois and Louisiana. I also offer coaching services for individuals seeking support outside of those states.

I specialize in working with people impacted by incarceration and state violence, either directly or indirectly, emerging adults, individuals navigating major life transitions, and those healing from complex trauma.

I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you with curiosity and care as we explore who you are, what matters most to you, and the life you want to build. My approach is informed by relational therapy, politicized healing, systems work, and a belief that healing is not about feeling better, but rather feeling more.
